At the walden. salon, we believe beauty should be accessible to all—especially during times when rising costs can make it feel out of reach. As inflation continues to impact the cost of living across the nation, we want to help make self-care a little more attainable and give back to our community. That’s why we’re excited to announce a new initiative: a monthly "Pay What You Can" day!

The Facts on Inflation and How We’re Responding

According to recent national statistics, inflation is hovering at its highest rate in decades, affecting essentials from groceries to gas. Many people feel pressure to cut back on non-essentials, but research shows that self-care, such as a fresh haircut or a soothing spa day, is not just a luxury. These experiences can have significant mental and physical benefits, positively impacting our sense of well-being and resilience in challenging times.

We’re inspired by this reality to bring the warmth and empowerment of beauty to everyone in our community. On Pay What You Can day, you’ll have the opportunity to access our services**, within any budget, from any stylist. It’s a chance to get the pampering you deserve without financial pressure.

The Positive Impact of Beauty on Well-Being

Studies show that feeling good about our appearance can improve self-esteem, reduce stress, and even boost our physical health. Small acts of self-care—like a fresh hairstyle, a nourishing scalp treatment, or a moment of relaxation—can help us feel recharged, ready to tackle our day with confidence. At the walden., we aim to create these experiences for our clients in an inclusive, supportive environment.

Giving Back to the Community

For each Pay What You Can day, a portion of proceeds will be donated to Nashville charities that share our vision of a supportive, resilient community. We’re proud to partner with organizations that address critical needs in our area, including:

- Nashville Peace Makers – Supporting peace and safety initiatives for youth.

- Oasis Center – Empowering youth with opportunities to discover and build their full potential.

- Second Harvest Food Bank – Providing essential food assistance to those facing food insecurity.

- Dismas House – Helping formerly incarcerated individuals successfully reintegrate into the community.

Every dollar spent will go towards improving lives—not just for those in our salon, but for those in need across Nashville.
